Policy Win: The Government Approved the Procedure for Inspection, Sampling, and Analysis of Water in Ports

On August 21, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Procedure for Inspection, Sampling, and Analysis of Water in Ports which regulates the activities of ecological inspectors during sampling and analysis of water. This Procedure is the second one of the required regulatory documents developed to resolve the situation with inspection of vessels in the seaports of Ukraine. In March 2019, the Government by its Resolution #367 prohibited carrying out inspections of vessels until the Procedure for Inspection, Sampling, and Analysis of Water is developed.

The AmCham Ukraine welcomes the Government’s decision and we are grateful to the Chamber Infrastructure Committee experts for their proactive approach in the development of the above-mentioned document, which is an important step for resolving the issue with inspection of vessels in the seaports of Ukraine.
