On June 20, the President of Ukraine issued Decree #418/2019 canceling certain Decrees of the President, including Decree #762 “On Payments for Notary Services” dated July 10, 1998.
Decree in question regulated minimal fee for notary services, including private notaries, which decreased possibilities for competition on the market. Such situation led to development of unfair practices, which permitted to return certain amount of officially paid fee. Earlier the Chamber had addressed the President and Minister of Justice with a request to cancel this Decree.
In this regard, cancelation of the Decree in question will permit to decrease costs of notary services for business and remove prerequisites for illegal practices. The Chamber will continue its efforts aimed at removal of excessive regulation of business activities.
