Policy Win: Parliament Adopted the Draft Law “On Customs Tariff of Ukraine”

On June 4, the Parliament of Ukraine adopted Draft Law #3228 “On Customs Tariff of Ukraine” which introduces a new edition of the Customs Tariff of Ukraine, based on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System 2017 and the Combined Nomenclature of the European Union.

Introduction of new Customs Tariff will help to resolve several issues, including the problem of differences in the product codes of the exporting country and Ukraine during the customs clearance of imported products (as currently Ukraine’s Customs Tariff is based on the outdated version of Harmonized System of 2012 edition).

The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine has been continuously supporting the necessity to update Ukraine's customs nomenclature of goods in line with international standards and will continue working on further improvement of Ukraine’s legislative base within the customs sphere and bringing it in line with the norms of international law.
