The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the adoption of the Draft Law #2493 “On Joint Stock Companies” (Draft Law) by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 27, 2022. AmCham member companies’ experts have consistently supported the adoption of this Draft Law, aimed at improving and further harmonizing the norms of shareholder representation in accordance with EU legislation.
Among other things, the Draft Law envisages the introduction of a mechanism for conducting general meetings using electronic voting. The Draft Law will allow to raise the level of corporate governance in business companies in accordance with European practices and standards, which will contribute to the protection of investors' rights and the expansion of opportunities for attracting capital.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is grateful to the Members of Parliament for adopting this Draft Law with the proposals of the business community and Chamber member companies’ experts for professional support and expertise during the drafting process.
