Policy Progress: The Antimonopoly Committee Obliged the Ministry of Infrastructure to Develop and Approve the Methodology of Calculating Port Dues within 4 Months

On February 6, 2020, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) issued the decision regarding violation of the legislation on protection of economic competition, which states that the port fees and discounts were set by the Ministry of Infrastructure without economic justification and respective Methodology.

By the mentioned decision, the AMCU obliged the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine to develop and approve the Methodology of Calculating Port Dues within four months.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the AMCU decision as a lever of protecting economic competition in Ukrainian sea ports. Experts of the Chamber Infrastructure Committee are ready to contribute to the development of the mentioned Methodology.
