On June 1, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed in the first reading Draft Law #4568 “On Materials Contacting with Food Products” (Draft Law).
The Draft Law determines the legal and organizational framework for ensuring the safety of materials contacting with food products in the process of their production, circulation, and usage to protect human health and consumers’ interests.
Previously, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine addressed the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, asking to define the Draft Law as a priority and support passing it as a basis for further improvement before the second reading.
Therefore, the Chamber will continue to work on Draft Law’s improvement in the course of its preparation to the second reading.
