Policy Win: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Simplified the Procedure for Issuing Ukrainian E-Visas

The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the introduction of a new simplified procedure for issuing Ukrainian electronic visas (e-Visa).

According to the decision, starting November 1, 2020, Ukrainian e-Visas will be issued according to a new convenient procedure:

  • the applicant will be able to choose the e-Visa application procedure: usual or urgent procedure (with doubling of the tariff rate in case of the urgent procedure)
  • e-Visas will be issued much faster: urgent e-Visas processing will take 1 working day, and the usual procedure will take 3 working days (at the moment the term for processing visa applications is up to 9 days)
  • in addition to the existing one-time e-Visa, a new type of visa will appear - e-Visa for double entry
  • differentiated tariff rates of the consular fee are significantly reduced: instead of $ 85. U.S. dollars for a single e-Visa, now the consular fee for a single e-Visa will be $ 20 U.S. dollars, for a double-entry e-Visa - $ 30 U.S. dollars

AmCham Ukraine Hospitality & Tourism Committee members have been continuously advocating for the digitalization and simplification of visa related processes, and thus welcome this progressive step towards stimulating tourism to Ukraine.
