The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes publication of Draft Order developed by the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture on simplifying internal phytosanitary procedures for barley exports.
The Draft Order provides for changes aimed at simplification of establishing, maintaining and renewal of the status of production site’s plot free from harmful organisms. In particular, it is proposed to settle the issue of updating the list of documents submitted for the official setting the status of "plot free from harmful organisms”, simplifying the procedure for entering and storing information on the phytosanitary status of regulated objects, requirements for sampling and phytosanitary examination. The proposed changes will eliminate regulatory barriers to the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.
Experts of the Chamber Agricultural Committee took an active part in advocating this initiative over the past two years and have repeatedly emphasized the importance of adopting respective changes. Hence, the Chamber welcomes this step of the Ministry and stresses the urgent need to adopt these changes.
