On July 17, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Procedure for Interaction between the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority and the State Ecological Inspection in case of detecting pollution by the vessels within the seaport water area.
As a matter of fact, this Procedure is the first of the required regulatory documents designed to resolve the situation in the seaports of Ukraine during the inspection of vessels. Thus, the interaction procedure offers a clear algorithm of actions and shall disable possible elements of abuse.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the decision of the Government on approving the Procedure for Interaction between the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority and the State Ecological Inspection in terms of environmental protection in ports. We are grateful to the Chamber Infrastructure Committee experts for their proactive approach in the development of the above-mentioned document, which is an important step for resolving the issue with inspection of vessels in the ports of Ukraine.
