The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes adoption of Draft Law #1048 on Authorized Economic Operators Concept (AEO) in the first reading by the Parliament. Chamber Members have been continuously supporting the implementation of the AEO concept in Ukraine and stand ready to share their expertise for further improvement of Draft Law #1048 to the second reading.
We would like to thank Robert Zeldi, EY Ukraine, Head of the Working Group on AEO, Igor Dankov, EY Ukraine, Co-Chair of the Chamber Customs Committee and all Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, who were actively involved in this advocacy process, for their contribution.
At the same time, the Working Group on AEO will continue its work as some provisions of Draft Law #1048 limit the possibilities for using simplified customs procedures stipulated in the current wording of the Customs Code of Ukraine and need to be improved during the further elaboration of the Draft Law in the Parliamentary Committee on Financial Issues, Tax and Customs Policy before the second reading.
