On July 15, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed in the first reading Draft Law #4572 amending the Law of Ukraine “On the State Property Fund of Ukraine” and other legislative acts of Ukraine on assistance in attracting investments in the process of privatization and lease of state and communal property (Draft Law).
The Draft Law aims to reform the state-owned enterprises (SOE) sector and contribute to transparent privatization. The adoption of the Draft Law will help improve the efficiency of state enterprises and ultimately increase revenues to the State Budget.
Previously, AmCham Ukraine addressed the Parliament of Ukraine asking to define the Draft Law as a priority and supported passing it as a basis for further improvement before the second reading.
Therefore, the Chamber welcomes passing Draft Law #4572 in the first reading and emphasizes the necessity of its mandatory improvement between the first and second readings taking into account the business community's proposals.
